Rainforest Field Trip

The biologically diverse tropical rainforests are found only on a very narrow strip of land near the Equator. And we are very fortunate to have patches of these ancient forests in urban Singapore.
The tropical rainforest experience a tropical climate with year-round sunshine and rain. It has a myriad of interesting plants like trees with giant buttress roots, snake-like climbers and ferns with leaves looking like deer antlers. These plants grow in the different vertical layers of the forest; each has its own unique adaptations to survive in their own niche.
The rainforest is also home to many animals. In Singapore, commonly seen forest animals are the Long-tailed Macaques, Plantain Squirrels, Slender Squirrels, Tree Shrews, Greater Racquet-tailed Drongo, Malayan Colugo, Clouded Monitor Lizards and invertebrates of all shapes and sizes.
Do join us and be fascinated by Singapore’s very own tropical rainforest!
Field trips are conducted at Singapore Botanic Gardens Rainforest or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
